TERMS & CONDITIONS

  • The Promotor is the SPAR Group Limited (Company Registration Number 1967/001572/06) (the “Promoter”).
  • The Participant is one who complies with the entry requirements of this Competition.
  • The Entry Requirements, Participating Products and corresponding Prizes are contained in Annexure A
  • The competition opens on Thursday, 7 August 2025 (from 00h01) and ends Sunday, 7 October 2025 (at 00h01)
  • Entry Mechanics: see Annexure A attached hereto regarding the entry process in respect of the Participating Products in question.
  • Each participating product, purchased together with swiping your Rewards card, is a single entry into the competition.
  • Thresholds spend of R100.00 applies
  • ONE till slip qualifies for ONE entry into the competition
  • Customers who purchased participating products using the TOPS2U service may enter the competition by uploading their receipts. Please see the steps below to download the receipt.
  • Upload a PDF of your 2U receipt received via email - steps below:
    1. **Open Your Email**: Begin by opening the email receipt you want to convert in your email (e.g., Outlook, Gmail).
    2. **Print Option**: Look for the print option, which is usually found under the 'File' menu or represented by a printer icon.
    3. **Select 'Print'**: Click on the 'Print' button. A print dialogue box will appear.
    4. **Choose 'Save as PDF'**: In the print dialogue box, select 'Save as PDF' from the list of available printers.
    5. **Adjust Settings**: You can adjust the settings as needed, such as the number of copies or page orientation.
    6. **Save the PDF**: Click 'Save' and choose the location on your computer where you want to save the PDF file. Give it a meaningful name for easy identification later.
    7. **Verify the PDF**: Open the saved PDF file to ensure that the email has been properly converted and everything looks as expected.
  • You may enter this competition as many times as you like.
  • By participating or entering this Promotion, participants will be deemed to have accepted and be bound by these Terms and Conditions which will be interpreted and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of South Africa. All information relating to this Promotion and published on any Promotional material will form part of the Terms and Conditions of entry.
  • The competition is open to all citizens of South Africa (in possession of a valid identification document), who are 18 years of age or over, except for the members, shareholders, directors, employees, partners, agents and consultants (and their respective life partners, business partners and immediate families) of:
      1. The SPAR Group Ltd, the SPAR Guild of Southern Africa NPC and the Build it Guild of Southern Africa NPC; and
      2. The suppliers of the Promoter which supply the Prizes or the Products.
  • All winners of the overlay prize will be contacted telephonically by the Promoter after the relevant weekly draws have been audited and confirmed. In this regard, the Promotor will endevour to contact winners using the contact details provided. In event that the Promotor is unable to contact the winner using such details notwithstanding reasonable efforts within 72 hours from the date that the draw is audited and confirmed, then in such event the Promoter shall be entitled (but not obliged) to select a new winner by undertaking another draw for such Prize.
  • Prizes may not be transferred or exchanged for cash or for any other goods or services.
  • To the fullest extent permitted by law, neither the Promoter, its associated companies, nor any directors, officers or employees of such nor their partners or agents supporting the Promotion shall be responsible for any loss, damage or injury whatsoever suffered by any participant/entrant or winner or their accompanying person(s) (including but not limited to any direct, indirect, consequential, special, punitive or incidental loss or damages) or for any personal injury (whether physical or mental) suffered or sustained by any participant/entrant or winner and/or their accompanying person(s) as a result of or in connection with the Promotion or the acceptance, use or application of the prize.
  • The names of the winners will be published on the TOPS at SPAR website (www.topsatspar.co.za) and on social media once the winners have been validated and verified. The participant, accordingly, by participating in this competition, provides their consent to supply their Personal information for the aforesaid purposes as contemplated in terms of POPIA. The winners’ names will also be featured in national press advertisements after the competition has ended and, in this regard, the Participant will be required to sign further documents as may be reasonably requested by the Promoter for the aforesaid purposes prior to any publication. However, the Participant is hereby notified that they may opt to decline their participation in such advertisements. If the Participant opts to participate in such advertisement, they will not be entitled to any remuneration for such participation and all materials arising from such participation will be the sole property of the Promoter.
  • By accepting the prize, the winners of the TOPS at SPAR EVERYONE WINS competition agree that TOPS at SPAR may use their names and pictures for any future marketing material by the SPAR Group Ltd in print and digital media and in this regard, the Participant will be required to sign further documents as may be reasonably requested by the Promoter for the aforesaid purposes prior to any publication. However, the Participant is hereby notified that it may opt to decline their participation in such marketing material. In the event that the Participant opts to participate in such marketing material, they shall have no claim to any compensation or payment in respect of their name and/or images.
  • A copy of these competition rules is available at all TOPS at SPAR stores on selected in-store advertising material.
  • The Promoter shall not be responsible for any lost, damaged, delayed, incorrect or incomplete entries for any reason whatsoever.
  • Responsibility is not accepted by the Promoter for entries lost, damaged or delayed as a result of any network, computer or cell phone hardware or software failure of any kind.
  • The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any claim if fraud or cheating is suspected, including without limitation, through the manipulation of code or otherwise frequently falsifying data.
  • The Promoter shall have the right to change or terminate the promotional competition immediately and without notice, if deemed necessary in its opinion and if circumstances arise outside of their control. In the event of such change or termination, all participants agree to waive any rights that they have in respect of this promotional competition and acknowledge that they will have no recourse against the Promoter or its agents.
  • In the event that the Prize is not available despite the Promoter’s reasonable endeavours to procure the Prize, the Promoter reserves the right to substitute the Prize of equal value.
  • The Promoter does not make any representation or give any warranties, whether expressly or implicitly as to a prize, and in particular, without limitation, makes no representations and gives no warranty that the prize, or any aspect thereof, will meet the Participant’s requirements, preferences, standards or expectations.
  • The Overlay Prize Winners will be selected through an audited random draw at the end of each week during the campaign period and will be notified telephonically within 2 (two) working days of the selection taking place.
  • Should any dispute arise in relation to the interpretation of the Promotional Competition and/or its terms and conditions, the Promoter’s decision shall be final and binding, and no correspondence shall be entered into.
  • In the event that any of the terms and conditions contained herein are found to be invalid, unlawful or unenforceable, such terms will be severable from the remaining terms of these terms and conditions, which will continue to be valid and enforceable.

  • The Promoter will not be liable for any faults, recalls, damage, or loss of, or to any Prizes redeemed by the winner. The Promoter shall not be responsible for any lost, damaged, delayed, incorrect or incomplete entries for any reason whatsoever (including, without limitation, as a result of any network, computer or cell phone hardware or software failure of any kind). Proof of sending will not be accepted as proof of receipt. The Promoter shall not be responsible for the failure of any technical element relating to this Promotion that may result in an entry not being successfully submitted.

  4. Scan the QR code which can be found on all competition supporting marketing communication in store, upload your till slip to redeem your prize
  5. Each entry requires a separate till slip dated within the probation period to be declared valid.
  6. The Promoter is not liable for the failure of any technical element relating to this Promotional Competition that may result in an entry not being successfully submitted.
  7. Entries which are unclear, illegible or contain errors will be declared invalid.
